What’s your pleasure?
VMware storage? VMware capacity? How about VMware reporting?
Whichever you choose, Eric Siebert has it covered at vSphere-land, the go-to site for all things VMware and virtual.
True, while Siebert’s site borders a little on VMware obsession- sifting through it never gets old.
His VMware Top 10 Index is invaluable to all IT administrators, regardless of their speciality.
My personal favorites:
- Top 10 Things You Must Read About VMware vShpere
- Top 10 Things You Must Read About VMware Security
- Top 10 Things You Must Read About VMware Storage
- Top 10 Things You Must Read About VMware Performance
- Top 10 Things You Must Read About Virtual Machines
Notice the trend here?
Siebert passes along crucial resources that are pertinent to specific areas of VMware use and capabilities. The man is a master at finding this stuff - and even better at passing it along to us.
Siebert’’s even written a book about VMware: VMware VI3 Implementation and Administration. It’s $40 a pop but, hey, it’s an easy-to-handle paperback AND it’s available on Kindle.
As for his blog, well that too is loaded with information. Almost too much. Personally, I like more witty commentary sprinkled into blog posts. Siebert is informative, but pretty cut and dry. I did, however, appreciate his candid honesty in explaining how he chose his VMware top blog list. If any of you aspire to be a part of this list, like myself, Siebert lays out some strict guidlines for what’s hot and what’s not in the VMware blogosphere. Let’s just say that at the rate I’m going, this blog won’t make his list anytime soon. But then again stranger things have happened.
One feature to keep an eye on in the future is Siebert’s vGlossary. This page is still under construction, but promises to be even more resourceful than some of his Top 10 lists.
Is Siebert paying me to write this glowing post about vSphere-land?
I wish.
This is simply a goodwill gesture - sort of a PSA for all VMware followers out there.
A visit to this site is worth your time in gold.
