Solution Overview
Profiler provides 3PAR customers with comprehensive data storage information in both physical and virtualized IT environments,
enabling organizations with 3PAR InServ Storage Servers to manage their assets and storage utilization across the enterprise.
With Tek-Tools software, IT management can create trending and forecasting reports across multi-vendor products and can monitor
events on mission-critical storage devices and applications. Profiler's 3PAR module discovers logical and physical attributes and
mappings based on 3PAR’s embedded SMI-S provider implementation, giving Profiler the capability to report on 3PAR’s asset information,
connectivity (LUNs and Ports), and capacity (physical disks, volumes, and storage pools) both in real time and historically.

Profiler’s 3PAR Module requires the embedded 3PAR SMI-S Provider be enabled. The 3PAR SMI-S provider is a Storage Management
Industry Specification (SMI-S) based provider which allows Profiler to ascertain up-to-the-minute physical, logical, and statistical
data. The communication protocol is XML over HTTP which can be sent either non-secure http, or secure https.
